Introduction


This walk through section is meant to introduce you to RivEX with some worked examples. It is not meant to be an exhaustive guide to all features of RivEX, nor does it explain how RivEX processes data, please refer to the relevant sections of the manual for this information. This document is simply to introduce you to the interface and some common tasks.


If some of the terminology is unfamiliar it is recommended that you review the glossary under the resources section of the manual.

This walk through guide work best if you follow each section in sequence:

Requirements


To use the RivEX demo you need at least ArcGIS 10.2.1 installed and to have downloaded the demo version and its sample data. Follow the instructions and create a folder on your C:\ drive called C:\RivEX.


The RivEX demo is designed to work only with the sample data it is provided with, it will disable itself if you try to use your own data.


This guide assumes a level of proficiency with ArcMap; you should know how to add data, view an attribute table, edit layer properties and be familiar with the common tools provided by ArcMap.
